This jacket is handcrafted from premium Japanese vegetable-tanned horsehide. The leather is vegetable-tanned using natural tannins, then first dyed brown before receiving a black pigmented topcoat. As the jacket is worn, the black surface gradually reveals the brown base underneath, creating the distinctive tea-core patina that leather enthusiasts appreciate. The leather also develops rich natural creases that become more pronounced over time, giving each jacket a unique character through years of wear. The horsehide is approximately 1.3 mm thick, offering an excellent balance of durability, structure, and comfort while maintaining a beautiful natural sheen.
